you ever wanted to pack with your mules? Learn the skills you'll
need from the very basics to leading two or more pack animals on
multiple day trips.
Packing, Level One—The
Basics
This is the first level of learning to pack with mules. The clinic is
held in an arena and covers basic packing skills. It is usually
done in a one day class. You will learn how to put on a pack
saddle and lead a pack mule. You will learn how to set the pack
boxes on and how to balance the load by putting the proper amount of
weight inside. You'll also learn to how to put a set of pack bags on,
do a box hitch and a single diamond hitch. Bring your own
mule or use ours.
Participants—$125
per day; Spectators—$50 per
day.
Limited to 10 participants
and 5 spectators.

Packing,
Level
Two—The Basics &
On the Trail
This is usually a
two day clinic that covers all the basic skills (same as Packing,
Level One Clinic) and goes on to teach you how to lead a pack mule
around obstacles and on trails. You'll start in an arena learning
the basic skills, then learn to lead around obstacles. Once you
have practiced those skills, you'll go out of the arena and up the
trails. Bring your own mule or use ours.
Participants—$175
per day; Spectators—$50 per
day.
Limited to 10 participants
and 5 spectators.
Special
notes: Packing clinics are held in the Queen Valley Mule Ranch arena
and on the trails around the ranch. Spectators will only be able
to observe training in the arena.

Packing, Level Three—With Two Pack Animals
This clinic covers the same skills as the Level Two Packing Clinic, but
you now will be packing and learning how to lead two
animals. You'll spend two nights on wilderness trails. You will
also learn how to use a double diamond, a single diamond, and a box
hitch. You will learn how to pack soft panniers. You will
learn how to prepare for your trip, learn how to build your camp, and
learn campfire and Dutch oven cooking. Bring your own mules
or use ours.
Participants—$225 per
day; Spectators—$50 per
day.
Includes all of your food and
feed for the mules.
Limited to 6 participants and 5 spectators.

This clinic is for the
professional packer and guide. You will learn the people skills and
packing skills needed to provide packing services. This clinic can be
tailored to suit your business needs. Bring your own mules
or use ours.
Participants—$250
per day. Spectators—$50 per
day.
Includes all of your food and
feed for the mules.
