Product Description

The Queen Valley Mule Ranch Neoprene Trail Saddle Cinch is the ideal cinch to go along with your Steve Edwards Saddle.

Mules and donkey owners will often ask if they can use horse tack with their mule and it’s not advisable. This cinch is meant specifically for the body shape and work load of a mule or donkey. It works in harmony with the breeching and the breast collar for a comfortable and functional ride.

How to Measure for Cinch Sizes

Watch the video below to learn how to measure your mule or donkey for the correct cinch size. You will want two measurements, the front cinch and the rear cinch. Yes, you need two cinches for a mule or donkey.

Neoprene Saddle Cinch Features

The neoprene material provides two major benefits to the animal. First it facilitates sweat production which cools the animal. Second, it provides lubrication between the cinch and the belly to prevent cinch sores. The neoprene also allows for fantastic airflow creating a simulated cooler on the belly of the animal.

In addition, you will find elastic in the cinch so that it expands and contracts with the animal, again, creating maximum comfort.

About Saddle Cinch Durability and Cleaning

This neoprene saddle cinch is incredibly durable and very easy to clean. Dirty and unmaintained cinches will create cinch sores so ease in cleaning is a very important feature that you won’t want to discount. Simply hose off the cinch to clean and in minutes you can put it back on the saddle. The material is anti-bacterial for added health benefits and will keep your saddle in place when installed correctly.

Cinch Warranty

All Trail Cinches come with a 12 month warranty from the date of purchase.

It is really good quality and made very well. I recommend for anyone.

  2. Orlando Maez (verified owner)

I had trouble with my saddle slipping on my mules and I tried different cinchs through the tears. This past year I spoke to Steve and I watched one of his videos. I decided to try his method and his cinchs and I have not had any more slipping issues. I highly recommend them to anyone

  3. Paul Heatwole (verified owner)

Do like the cinch. Also the come along hitch is a game changer.

  4. Leroy Johnson

I’ve been riding for 30 years and they are the best I’ve found, won’t use anything else. And priced very reasonable for the quality.

  5. JERRY CAMBERN (verified owner)

Good cinch I use them on both of my pack saddles. And they work great

  6. Andrew Jenkins (verified owner)

Buy this cinch and use it on the rear like Steve says , your saddle slipping days will be over ! These are NOT like other neoprene cinches , they are the best and only ones to buy , I was a big mohair cinch person , these will change your life for the better !

  7. Deb Maage (verified owner)

We have been using these cinches for a number of years now. Both front and back. They work great and have never had a cinch gall with them

  8. Jack Roggow (verified owner)

Highly recommend! I use them on the Trail Lite saddle that I’ve had for 3 years now. This is the first piece of Steve’s saddle system that I have replaced and that was from my neglect. I haven’t been cleaning my cinches enough and the sweat from the mule corroded the eyelet under the fabric making it rough and it wore through the fabric. Luckily I caught it before the breast collar tore it out, out on the trails.
In addition to the Trail Lite saddle I use Steve’s beta britchen ,beta breast collar, saddle pad and tapedaro stirrups.I have no complaints and the saddle it just gets more comfortable the more I use it

  9. Jack Roggow (verified owner)

Rating above should be 5 Stars! I had typing error

  10. Jennifer (verified owner)

Love these cinches best. Use one in front and rear on my mule.

  11. Nick (verified owner)

I bought the front and rear neoprene cinches and am very happy with them. Neither of my mules have much for withers, so having these cinches really helps keep the saddle in place. Steve is a pleasure to do business with and clearly cares about his customers being happy with his products.

  12. Richard Peterson (verified owner)

So far, we are happy with this cinch. Helps with saddle slipping. We have only put about 10-15 miles per ride on our mule with this cinch on his winter hair, but so far no sores.

  13. Meredith (verified owner)

Awesome product. They are great very comfortable and keep my saddle from slipping. I love the elastic on the buckles. No galling or rubbing.

  14. Carolyn dixon (verified owner)

My husband and I use nothing but Steve Edwards tack. We have two saddles, front and back cinches, saddle pads, britchen and breast collar. They are the best quality and most comfortable for our mules of any out there. If you have a question just call Steve he is always so helpful.

  15. Eileen (verified owner)

I purchased both front and rear cinches. They seem durable. The added benefit of cooling and lubrication on the mule’s belly to avoid sores is the way Steve designed these cinches.

  16. Joanna (verified owner)

Love this cinch. No slipping, No sores and easy to clean. can’t go wrong. Works great for my mule!

  17. Lucia (verified owner)

    excellent quality. Highly recommend
do not scare. and are easy to clean

  18. Gloria (verified owner)

Steve’s cinches are the best. They do not burn like the old slick neoprene cinches did. Use one in the front and one in the back. Rear cinch is tight, front cinch loose. Works just like Steve says it does.

  19. David Hickman

Great cinch. Really helped my saddle stay in place and ride much more confidently. Love the stretch part of the cinch…mule loves it also!

  20. Joe Williams (verified owner)

Cinchs work great. Double is the way to go. It’s changed the way I ride forever. Problem mule training video is great as well. Steve really tells the facts straight. Rare quality in this industry!! Thanks queen Valley

  21. Lindsey (verified owner)

This is a great product. I was looking for a cinch small enough to fit my mule and I found plenty of information to measure correctly on Steve’s website. If you’re a new mule owner, you’ll find any information you need. Every product I’ve purchased so far has been great quality and I would recommend to anyone.

  22. Robbie (verified owner)

Great cinch, saddle stays in place. Should have bought sooner.

  23. Becky Jeski (verified owner)

I have had bad experiences with neoprene girths so I was not sure but willing to give it a try. I ordered the wrong size at first and Steve changes it out for me without and problem. I am very pleased with the quality and fit for my mule and there doesn’t seem to be anything uncomfortable for my mule either. Stays in place even though they arent crazy tight. Good choice and good products.

  24. Dani Wright (verified owner)

I own a tack store and tried all the different cinches to keep my coming 4 year old from getting rubbed behind the shoulders , Mohair, sheepskin , neoprene with and with out elastic . Even with britching the cinches still rubbed. I bought a used QVR saddle replaced all the latigos with nylon and ordered Steve’s Cinches both front and back. Put the breast collar thru the pommel loop and “woohoo “ no rubbing. The saddle doesn’t move. The girth Sits back about 4 inches from the elbow. It’s awesome having total security on a youngster. Thanks Steve

  25. Linda Vining (verified owner)

When I unpacked these cinches I said, “I would wear that myself.” Everytime you wear a backpack, you’ll be jealous of your mule. Sturdy construction, easy to rinse clean. Stays in place on the animal without slipping or soreing. And, I’m just guessing, but maybe you don’t have to yank your cinches so tight that they pinch your mule, with these comfy cinches.

  26. Julia Carpenter

These are great, well made girths. Worth the price because they last. My husband used them on his 2400 mile trip from our farm in NC to Idaho. He’s still using them a year later. They still are in great shape. I like the look of them so much I ordered them to use on my horses.

  27. Joe Bowman (verified owner)

Have always had saddle slippage on our mountain trails until we got these cinches front and back and tacked up using Steve recommendations. We are happy and our mules are happy.

  28. Angela Krause (verified owner)

Prefer the old fashioned kind of cinch, especially for the back one. Struggled with the back one sliding for months. Finally tried the traditional kind and no more movement! (Although I highly recommend the downhill pad)

  29. Farrah Almeida (verified owner)

Use these cinches front and rear in my mule. They fit well and are easy to clean. Very happy with them.

  30. adaleparkerou (verified owner)

I recently bought 2 cinches and I love them. They are well made and look good with my Mule Valley Cowboy Saddle and my Buckaroo saddle.

  31. Trinity Powers (verified owner)

Nothing else on the market comes close. Absolute “must” for our mules!

  32. Ken Mireau (verified owner)

Love the cinches. Couldn’t get saddle to stay tight, adjusted readjusted, finally got rid of cinch straps. Put on two leather off billets & two leather latigo straps. Have not had a problem since & the mule is much happier

  33. Becky and Gracie Mae (verified owner)

This is a revised review.. I have been riding the Steve Edwards cowboy saddle with front and back cinches for over a year now. My mule is very happy with the saddle fit and never had a gall with these cinches. Excellent products. Gracie Mae Mule and I are both happy. Thanks Steve.

  34. Rip Stauffer (verified owner)

I’m not sure if anyone else is making cinches such as these but they are high quality and allows the mule to move and breathe much more freely than any other cinch I have used or seen.

  35. Lee (verified owner)

I bought one cinch and loved it. Then I bought another. The cinch is well made. It does not gall my mules and stays put. The only cinch I will use now!

  36. Chris Davidson (verified owner)

My new neoprene cinch works just fine! Thanks for sending it so quickly!

  37. Leah Steffens (verified owner)

Very high quality. More comfortable for my mule than most neoprene cinches.

  38. Lori Little (verified owner)

Doesn’t slip, easy to clean. Fits perfect.

  39. Lori Little (verified owner)

Nicely made, fits fine, doesn’t slip and easy to clean.

  40. Andrew Jenkins (verified owner)

Steve’s cinches are the only ones I’ll use. Super high quality. They keep the saddle from sliding sideways , preventing a what could be catastrophic at my age .

  41. Dan Mercado (verified owner)

Good quality ,reasonable price works quite well with my big mule.

  42. Lane (verified owner)

Your cinches are top quality and really hold a saddle in place.

  43. Terrell Huddleston (verified owner)

These neoprene cinches are a must have. They really adhere to my donkey’s and mule’s belly and help keep the saddle in place. I am very pleased after long rides through steep terrain to see no sore spots or missing hair.

  44. James (verified owner)

Great thing about it it stretches when you first hook it on, so later down the path when the donkey let the air out, it still hold snug. Now I am saving my money to buy one of Steve’s saddles@

  45. Glenna (verified owner)

Love these cinches. The quality is great and they do not slip at all on my donkey.

  46. Sabrina Robinson (verified owner)

I am the happy owner of a mule shaped like a propane tank, and the 34 and 40 inch finches are perfect. They are great quality, and fit very nicely without gapping or rubbing. If Waylon the Wonder mule ever breaks a sweat, he too will appreciate these cinches.

  47. Sherman Johnson (verified owner)

Steve’s cinch’s are well made easy to clean and hold the saddle like glue. Running a tight back cinch and just a snug front cinch is a great combination to keeping your mule comfortable.
